Starbucks 1950’s Sock-hop in Redlands

Redlands is a small town, but it has a historical charm.   The original building on Redlands Blvd. (old Highway 99) was a Baker’s drive-thru restaurant back in the early 1960’s and today it has been rebuilt to the original retro charm and a Starbuck’s is now open.  They wanted to have a sock-hop to bring back some of its history and they decorated the parking lot with a black and white dance floor, tables and chairs, string lights, a few cars from a local car club, DJ, and a few of us dressed for the occasion. They brought in dance instructors and taught the crowd a few of the dances from the day.  Of course, they served Starbuck’s coffee and tea.   We learned about the event and wanted to attend and show support since Karen, the owner of Main Stream Events and PR Firm was born and raised in Redlands and spends half the time in CA with .

It was a fun time and many people stopped by to see what was happening and joined in the fun.
